In July 2015, 400 GB of data from Hacking Team (including nearly 200 GB of emails) was anonymously published online. This important dataset includes details on Hacking Team’s sales to countries with questionable human rights records, assistance in spying on activists, and other problematic activities. We mirrored the full Hacking Team dataset to make it more available to journalists and security researchers investigating these issues.
We also released a searchable archive of the 200 GB of emails in this database. This archive is viewable on a real mail client (ArchivePile– a read only version of Mailpile) that maintains threading and mailboxes. For easier browsing and analysis, the emails are also categorized by countries, companies, events, and other subjects discussed.
